1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Lexula (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Lexula is a personalized language learning reader designed to facilitate reading foreign language texts. The Service provides text parsing for formats including EPUB, FB2, TXT, and PDF, real-time contextual AI translations, difficulty level adaptation, vocabulary extraction, and spaced repetition (SM-2) flashcard reviews.

3. User Accounts and Privacy of Uploaded Content

You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You retain full ownership and intellectual property rights in the books, documents, and texts you upload to your private library.

Lexula stores your uploaded materials strictly in your personal, authenticated account. Your books are private by default, are never made public without your explicit consent, and are not shared with other users or used to train public AI models.

4. Copyright and Acceptable Use

You represent and warrant that you own or possess the necessary rights and permissions to upload and process any content in your account. You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to upload malicious files, unauthorized commercial spam, or content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.

5. AI Translations and Contextual Lookups

Lexula leverages artificial intelligence models to provide contextual translations, definitions, and sentence-level explanations. While we continuously optimize for linguistic accuracy and CEFR alignment (A2, B1, B2), AI-generated translations are provided for educational and personal learning purposes only, without guarantee of absolute completeness or professional certification.

6. Subscriptions, Telegram Stars, and Cancellation Policy

Lexula offers both free and premium subscription tiers:

• Free Tier: Includes up to 3 books in your personal library, 30 daily AI hint requests, sentence translations, and spaced repetition review. Free accounts require no payment card.
• Lexula Pro: Billed at 120 Telegram Stars / month (or equivalent local pricing). Pro unlocks an expanded library of up to 100 books, priority AI queues, CEFR level adaptations, and enhanced review capabilities.

Transparent Cancellation: You can cancel auto-renewal at any time in your Profile settings or directly in Telegram without penalty or hidden cancellation fees. Upon cancellation, your Pro benefits remain active until the end of the paid billing period. When the period ends, your account seamlessly transitions to the Free tier. Your books, saved vocabulary, and reading progress are safely preserved.

7. Account and Data Deletion

You have the right to delete individual books, reset reading history, or delete your entire Lexula account at any time. Selecting "Delete Account" in your Profile settings permanently purges your account, uploaded book files, pages, segments, saved vocabulary, review history, and session data from our production databases.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lexula and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your access to or use of the Service.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the application or via email prior to the effective date of the new terms.
